Ifetayo’s mission is to prepare young people and their families

holistic programs that help to empower them to become self-sufficient,
productive adults who are actively engaged in the improvement
of their communities. This mission is carried out as we
work to achieve the five primary objectives of the organization
which are:
- to develop cultural awareness and self-esteem by exposing
youth and families to traditional African artistic forms
and their evolution into contemporary cultures;
- to provide youth, families and communities of African
descent with the tools required to become self-sufficient
and to transcend challenges that are perpetuated across
generations;

a harmonious balance between the mind, body, and spirit

African-centered approach to youth and community development.
Program Summary:
The Cultural Arts Program is dedicated to creating an avenue
for artistic and cultural expression that encourages heightened

Cultural Arts Program is to promote and facilitate the engagement
of students in their development in the arts, while enhancing
their cultural literacy, citizenship skills and personal
growth as well rounded and healthy members of society. By
attracting and retaining high level, notable artists, many

to experienced world renowned professionals, with whom students
may otherwise not have access. The Cultural Arts program
is an exploration to create a positive self-image amongst
community youth while developing knowledge of self, through
